Privacy policy

Your association’s records matter. This privacy policy explains what Understand My Policy, Inc. (doing business as HOACompliant, "we," "us," or "our") collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to hoacompliant.com and the related services.

We built this service on three promises, and we lead with them because they are the point:

• Your records are private.
• We never use your content to train AI models.
• You can delete everything, anytime.

1. Information we collect

Association details you enter. The factual details about your association (type, unit count, county, building, dates, and similar) that we use to produce your obligation calendar, and the record statuses and notes you keep in your binder.

Proof documents you attach ("your content"). Any records or proof you choose to store against an obligation.

Account information. If you create an account, your name and email address. Sign-in is passwordless (an email code), so we do not store a password.

Payment information. When you make a purchase, our payment processor collects and handles your payment details. We do not store your full card number.

Usage and device data. Standard analytics, pages visited, general device and browser information, and product events.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide the service: build your dated obligation calendar, keep your records, and remind you of deadlines;
• Process payments and manage any subscription;
• Operate and improve the service, including monitoring for abuse and debugging;
• Provide support and respond to you.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train AI models.

3. How the service produces your obligations

Your obligation calendar is produced from our own curated dataset of statutes and rules, matched deterministically to the factual details you enter. We do not run AI over your documents to generate it. If we ever use an AI provider to help process content you provide, that provider processes it only to return a result to us so we can serve you, under contractual terms that prohibit using your content to train models. Your content is an input to a task we run for you, never training data.

4. Our promise on training and selling data

We never use your content, or the personal information in it, to train AI models, ours or anyone else’s. We never sell your personal information.

We may produce and use de-identified, aggregated statistics (for example, general trends across many anonymized associations) to improve the service, separated from your identity.

5. How we protect your information

• Encryption. Your content is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• Access controls. Access to your content is restricted to your account.
• Minimization. We collect what the service needs to work and no more.
• Vendors under contract. Third parties who help us run the service are bound to protect your information and use it only to provide their service to us.

6. Your choices and rights

• Deletion. You can delete your content and account information at any time, from your account or by emailing support@hoacompliant.com.
• Access and correction. You can ask us what personal information we hold and request correction.

Depending on where you live (such as under the Florida Digital Bill of Rights), you may have additional rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
